In Ukraine, the number of people with various disabilities is about 2.6 million
The disabled make up almost 6% of the total Ukrainian population. Of these, people with a general disease – 1 million 757 thousand, war veterans – 259 thousand, disabled children – 153 thousand, work injuries – 109 thousand, Chernobyl victims – 81 thousand, disabled military personnel – 14 thousand (2011 statistics).
Many people with disabilities need our support. For example, adults diagnosed with infantile cerebral paralysis (ICP) are often bedridden and cared for by elderly parents. Such people simply can not leave their apartments for years. People with visual or hearing impairments also live in isolation. When helped by volunteers to safely travel outdoors they very often restore interest in life and can start to feel the common emotions that all of us think so trivial.
When you come across a help request, just try for a moment to see the world through the eyes of these people… There’s so much anyone can do with so little effort!
Our charitable foundation has a mission to shelter children with disabilities and also to take care of everyone who is in trouble, regardless of age. ![]()
